Dr. Parra’s latest position augments his 30 years of experience in the medical industry, where he has focused his abilities on medical integration, consultant, self-insurance, medical marketplace and managing local and national care issues. He brings to this position his experience with owning and operating out of his own private clinic, which he provided services for oncology and hematology patients for 20 years. Additionally, he has consulted for the BeyEl Corporation, the Rocky Mountain Health and Benefits, the Colorado Senate Finance Committee and the MindGenesis Imaging Facility.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and toxicology in 1979 from San Jose State University, Dr. Parra continued at the Creighton University School of Medicine to earn an MD. For his accomplishments in the medical field during this time, he was admitted to the Phi Chi Medical Fraternity. He completed a residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was involved with the internal medicine program. Afterward, he completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 1990.

Dr. Parra maintains up-to-date with the medical industry with affiliations to the American Board of Medical Oncology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has been for his accomplishments on several occasions, including a Top Doctor Award in National Medical and Hematology and the Best of the Best Doctors in All Specialties from 5280 Magazine. In addition to his work, Dr. Parra speaks to the public and has published six publications.
