Los Angeles, CA, March 20, 2015, Zenaida Feliciano, MD, Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at UCLA VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, has been recognized by Elite American Physicians for dedication, achievement and leadership in cardiology.
Dr. Feliciano developed an interest in cardiology during her first summer of medical school at the University of Puerto Rico. She was completing study work in a post-open-heart surgery ICU to evaluate mortality rates in Puerto Rico versus those in the United States. The work piqued her interest in cardiology, and after completing the required work in internal medicine, she pursued a career as a cardiologist. Her first position was offered to her by her mentor, in Maryland, and she eventually moved to California, where she has since thrived.
Board Certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiovascular disease, and internal medicine, Dr. Feliciano has gained a stellar reputation for her work in the field. She is dedicated to providing patients with the highest quality care and developing treatment plans for a greater success rate. She is an expert in arrhythmia management, ablation, atrial fibrillation, and spends her days running the electrophysiology service, which is the arrhythmia service that deals with people who have rhythm of the heart problems. Dr. Feliciano also implants pacemakers and defibrillators and performs intracardiac procedures to try to cure arrhythmia.
Dr. Feliciano has been a practicing physician for more than a decade and has received ample recognition for her knowledge and techniques. She has won numerous teaching and mentor awards, and attributes her success to hard work and dedication, and her love for what she does. She is also grateful to have had the support of her mother. In the future, Dr. Feliciano hopes to establish a center of excellence in order to be able to offer the latest and greatest in medical treatments to the veterans in the area. Her facility already functions as the tertiary referral center, but her goal is to expand upon that reputation and she to reestablish a more vibrant clinical research component in electrophysiology.
