Kingston, PA, May 9, 2011, Dr. Frederick Myers, Retired, has been recognized by Elite American Physicians for dedication, achievements and leadership in internal medicine.
Dr. Myers began his long and accomplished career in health care following his receipt of an MD from Hahnemann Medical College, now Drexel University College of Medicine, in 1968. He was inspired by his father, a physician, to pursue medicine following his completion of a liberal arts degree. For 10 years, the two worked side by side until an unfortunate stroke ended Dr. Myers’ clinical career.
His next position was with the U.S. Social Security as a level II disability review specialist. There, Dr. Myers utilized his medical knowledge to review claims for disability benefits. He submitted reports about whether the criteria were met or not until 1989. Following his departure, Dr. Myers obtained a position as a volunteer assistant professor in clinical medicine at The Commonwealth Medical College. Dr. Myers has published a number of articles and has been a fellow of the American College of Physicians since April 16, 2006.
