New Haven, CT, June 2, 2011, Dr. Jonathan Grauer, Physician and Spine Surgeon at Yale University, has been recognized by Elite American Physicians for dedication, achievements and leadership in orthopedic surgery.
Inspired by his family members in the medical field, Dr. Grauer began his own journey into the medical field through his initial enrollment in the biology program at Tufts University. Following his graduation in 1992, he attended Yale School of Medicine, where he graduated cum laude with an MD. Recognized for his talent, he obtained an internship in surgery at the Yale-New Haven Hospital upon graduation before moving on to complete a four-year residency in orthopedic surgery at the same hospital. He soon developed an interest in spinal surgery procedures through his experiences, and accepted a fellowship at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pa.
After his fellowship, Dr. Grauer returned to the New Haven, Conn., area, where he has been splitting his time between Yale University and Yale-New Haven Hospital for the past eight years. At the university, he imparts his knowledge to the next generation of medical students as an associate professor in the department of orthopedics and rehabilitation. He also demonstrates his medical expertise outside of the classroom in the busy orthopedic area of the hospital to the interns, residents and fellows.
Dr. Grauer stays abreast of industry changes and shares his own research findings through his memberships with the Scoliosis Research Society, the Eastern Orthopaedic Association and the North American Spine Society. He intends to continue providing his patients with the best care possible through his clinical practice at the hospital.
