She completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of South Florida in Tampa in 1978. She earned a master’s degree at Cleveland Clinic in 1977 and a MD at the University of El Salvador in 1971. In 1973 she earned a certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. In her spare time she volunteers with the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry, Inc., and enjoys travelling, listening to music, playing tennis, dancing, exercising, tai chi and yoga.
